The Top 10 Shows of 2012 (New York Post)
Jackie Sibblies Drury’s play opened at such a busy time that I wasn’t able to get to it in time for a review. I was lucky enough to catch up with the show, which turned out to be astounding. Set during a rehearsal for the titular presentation, it laid bare actors’ narcissism and their obsession with process, the conventions of theater-making, and the politics of colonialism. It’s a tall order, but Drury and director Eric Ting pulled it off brilliantly in a show that was both brainy and visceral.
